A delicate, washed Caturra varietal from Bolivia’s home of specialty coffee in the west-central region, this lot comes to us from Finca Navarro in Taipiplaya. This particular microlot is intense and sweet with a complex finish, showcasing the incredible potential of Bolivian specialty coffee.

    Coffee has never been a massive industry in Bolivia. Dwarfed by the much more profitable and reliable coca crop, producing coffee in Bolivia has historically been incredibly difficult. However, thanks to the dedication and hard work of some, coffee production is heading for a more profitable and sustainable future.

    The Sol de la Mañana program, initiated by the Rodríguez family, empowers smallholder coffee producers in Bolivia through mentorship, quality-focused practices, and access to resources. The program’s success, noticeable through increased yields and improved cup quality, demonstrates the potential for sustainable coffee production in Bolivia.
